A Cordas third CD is ready, beautiful, romantic music. ”Terzetto” contains pieces by Niccolo Paganini and Francois de Fossa.
A Corda consists of Birgitte Stærnes, violin and Martin Haug, guitar. This time the duo also brought along the superb cellist Øystein Birkeland.
As always A Corda presents a repertoire that is not well represented in the CD catalogues. They have once more found pearls from the treasury of chamber music; this is music that will please your ear from the first note.
Niccolo Paganini´s ”Terzetto” is the violin masters last chamber work of importance, showing a striking richness of melodic invention. In the time before the romantic period we find the lesser-known Francois de Fossa and his ”Trio Concertante”, a masterpiece of elegant composition and beautiful themes.
